Oga, Why…?

It has been a while since we sat beside the beach to chat. I have missed you, did you miss me? I’m sure you did.

Hmm… a lotttt has happened over the years, I’m sure you already know that, I wouldn’t want to bore you with that, I just want to let you know that, I am sorry for going for too long this time. I really want you to be grateful for me, grateful for life, and all that the water has dragged along our ways. I am sincerely grateful to God that, I am alive and well. Thank you for always being a shoulder to lean on.

Today, I want to ask you something that has been bothering me, the question is; why do men take the time and pain to ask a girl out, after they have succeeded in getting her “green light,” they then decide to withdraw yet they expect the girl to do the chasing?

Please make it make sense. Why do men do that? I would really need an answer… I would really need an answer to this because it is mind-boggling to have a man approach a girl (in a boy-meets-girl situation) of course, you as the guy, were bold in your approach, you made your intention known. Then, you disappear and expect her to be the one chasing you and if she doesn’t, you (the guy) takes it personally, and say words like “Oh, you haven’t checked on me,”

“Oh, you didn’t call me,”

“Seems like you don’t have my time”, “Oh! Yeah, I don’t have time for frivolities if that is what you are asking”

Sometimes he says “You’re just enjoying yourself without me”

In my mind, I am like “Are you for real?” Like, are you really for real? Because, I just can’t wrap my head around this, I’m just like, what is going on? You, the man, should be the one doing the chasing, not the other way around.

Yes, we all know that both parties must give the same energy, but if the initiator’s (man) vibe is dead from the start, what can the righteous do?

Please, like I said, it is mind-boggling. I’m confused about this, please enlighten me, is this the new norm? I need someone to explain this to me.

I think I need a cup of water right now.
